What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is an interactive process that involves finding the root cause of nutritional deficiencies in your body. It provides a multidimensional approach to healing. It aims to identify imbalances that are leading to the symptoms you wish to improve upon. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) I have seen that real food can be used as medicine and can be extremely therapeutic. With a properly prepared whole foods diet, we can improve upon the foundations of health and move the body towards a more healthful state. We will use your body’s own innate wisdom to tell us what we need to focus on. As an NTP I have several tools to employ which will allow us to pinpoint where the dysfunction is occurring in your body. The goal of nutritional therapy is to support the systems that are leading to dysfunction. Modern medicine is mainly concerned with treating symptoms, rather than figuring out what is causing the symptoms to occur in the first place. That is what makes my work as an NTP to incredible, it flips that paradigm on its head.

My goal is that after we work together, you will not need me anymore. You will have gained tools and knowledge about what works best for your own bioindividuality and will be armed with the knowledge of how to feel your absolute best. You will know what foods to avoid, and what steps you need to take to achieve your personal health goals.

Nutritional therapy is effective for many of the diseases and symptoms that so many people are struggling with:

  • Chron’s Disease
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Celiac Disease
  • Colitis
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Joint pain
  • Chronic Pain
  • Sugar cravings
  • Disordered eating
  • Pre-diabetes
  • Cramping, bloating and gas
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Thyroid issues
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Skin conditions like acne, eczema and psoriasis
  • Weight issues
  • Fertility

*DISCLAIMER: Our work together is not intended to cure, diagnose, or treat disease. I am not a medical doctor. As an NTP my work is to help you support your body’s natural ability to heal and function optimally by providing it with the nutrients it needs to do so.

What is involved in Nutritional Therapy? What tools do you use?

Initial Interview

I spend 90-120 minutes with you reviewing your initial interview questionnaire and asking more in-depth questions to get a better idea of your health concerns and where we should focus our work together.

Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire

This is a very in-depth assessment of your present health status that will give me a much better understanding of what may be causing your health concerns and where the dysfunction lies within your body.

Food Journal

This provides a 3 day look into your current diet. This will allow me to see what foods may be contributing to your current health concerns and will also help me to tailor my nutritional recommendations to fit your preferences and lifestyle.

Functional Evaluation

This is a hands-on evaluation that allows us to tap into your body’s own innate wisdom to gain knowledge on which organ systems are in need of support. This is a highly bio-individual process that will allow me to further personalize your nutritional therapy recommendations. This process will help us address any issues that were not improved by changes in your diet alone.

Lingual-Neuro Testing

The LNT process gives me the ability to determine what nutrients your body is in need of to properly heal itself.

Follow Up Sessions

We will schedule a follow-up session to track your progress and fine-tune your plan.

What is the Functional Evaluation and Lingual-Neuro Testing?

The Functional Evaluation is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on process that utilizes neuro-vascular and neuro-lymphatic reflex points of the body to assess the level of distress in each organ system. The Lingual-Neuro testing allows us to determine which nutrients specific organs need to support better function. Lingual-Neuro Testing taps into your body’s own innate intelligence about what it needs nutritionally. Nutrients are placed on the taste tongue which then communicates with the central nervous system and organs to tell us if a nutrient is sufficient or insufficient. The combination of all the tools discussed above along with the Functional Evaluation and Lingual-Neuro testing is what sets Nutritional Therapy apart from other nutrition practices. As an NTP I will tailor your plan to your own bioindividuality. A truly unique plan.
